»Slovenski pravnik (Slovenian Jurist) was first issued in 1862 (the publisher was then dr. J. R. Razlag), and it had been published with interruptions until the year 1888, when the publisher became the association Pravnik (Jurist).

It is for this fact alone already why the Association of the Slovenian Jurists' Societies has a sense of special responsability towards this magazine. After the year 1888 it has been published − with interruptions in the years of 1918, 1919 and 1945, during the war − continually. Since the 1st of January 1965 it is published as Pravnik, revija za pravno teorijo in prakso (Pravnik (Jurist), magazine for legal theory and practice).

Consequently, we can be proud in saying that the magazine Pravnik is a part of the Slovenian legal and general culture, with merits for the enforcement of the Slovenian language and the final formation of the Slovenian nation and being important for the development of the Slovenian state.
